Design and Release Engineer - Wheels and Wheel Trim

Design and Release Engineer to lead product development activities from concept to product launch for wheels, wheel trim, wheel fasteners, and tire/wheel assembly. The selected candidate will determine early product feasibility with advance packaging, dynamics, and Product Design Office (PDO). The Design and Release Engineer will develop appearance direction with Brand, Marketing, Materials, and PDO which balance the need vs. available technology. The selected candidate will be responsible for release documentation which meets program timing and intermediate milestones (to include product planning changes). The Design and Release Engineer will also manage supplier execution, lead specific vehicle level testing, and coordinate development with other groups. Closer to launch, the Design and Release Engineer will lead wheel and tire mounting, uniformity, and balance data analysis and problem resolution with the tire/wheel assembler.




Basic Qualifications:



  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering

  • A minimum of 2 years of product development experience




Preferred Qualifications:



  • 5+ years' experience in wheel or wheel trim manufacturing and/or design and development

  • Experience in painting and plating processes

  • Experience with Chrysler release systems (NX, Team Center, change management, EBOM, Fastcar, etc)

  • Knowledge in tire/wheel assembly processes

  • DFSS experience

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to lead teams and resolve conflicting requirements across multiple organizations

  • Familiar with chassis systems/components such as suspension, steering, and tires

  • Passion for vehicles

  • Second language in Korean or Mandarin
