VP, Product Management

Description:


Handles all Product Management responsibilities for assigned product and services suite and manages the department's P&L. This requires a clear understanding of both the current market requirements and the future direction of the healthcare industry and how ikaSystems' products and services can meet market demands. Knowledgeable on trends, regulations and competitors impacting market space. Primarily focused on operations management for the department, creation and execution of the department's business plan, and supporting sales opportunities to ensure continued growth and profitability of assigned products and services. In addition, this role builds a foundation for future revenue growth; supports pricing by aligning offerings with market requirements and integrations with other ikaSystems' products and services; delivers customer-facing presentations in support of Sales; supports customer retention by involvement in problem resolution and support of quality improvements.


Primary duties and responsibilities include:


- Product Management - creates roadmaps and presents to prospects and internal customers. Negotiates customer requests (internal and external) and manages development capacity to meet customers' needs.

- Sales Support - works closely with Sales team to identify product or service opportunities and to close the business. Ensures that all staff members are constantly looking for new opportunities when working on a client engagements. Collaborates with Marketing to create tools for Sales team to assist them in selling the products or services. Responsible for pricing (including discounts) to ensure the unit's revenue and margin goals are achieved or exceeded and assists in presentations to clients and prospects. Assists in preparing and reviewing RFPs.

- Operations Management - writes annual business plan, manages execution of business plan throughout year, reports on health of business during Operations Reviews and makes course corrections to plan as necessary. Plan execution includes budget - accountable for managing to assigned revenues and margins while aggressively working with Sales team to achieve revenue goals. Works closely with Sales and Accounting to resolve any client payment issues related to products or services. Oversees financial activities for the department, including tracking and reporting revenue and revenue recognition.

- Product Offerings - maintains a solid understanding of marketplace to ensure that the right products or services are available at the right time; the primary driver is to grow the business annually. Works closely with product managers and customers (internal and external) to understand how future product releases will lead to new product and/or services offerings. Manages current portfolio (including packaging and pricing) and assists in developing business cases to bring new initiatives to market.

- Customer Satisfaction - responds to questions and issues from current and prospective customer base regarding product or service capabilities, software defects, product performance, and implementations

- 3rd Party Partner Management - may manage effectiveness of current 3rd party relationships; evaluate new relationships for assigned product suite; and ensure relationships add value to the company

- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws. May require interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
