Description Job Details: Performs RNA extractions and analytical testing in support of biomarker development and biomarker analysis in clinical trials Plans and conducts experiments, records and organizes data, analyses results, generates robust and reliable data Responsibilities include: Monitors or follows established experimental design and protocols and performs routine tasks to obtain reproducible and reliable results with limited supervision Plans, conducts, analyzes and records experiments, and provides interpretation of data Develops and implements new protocols with moderate review Engages coworkers in scientific discussions Communicates data and interpretation to work group Skilled at developing systems to ensure quality data Skilled and/or knowledgeable in the use of standard laboratory equipment and with one or more major laboratory instruments/techniques Effectively trouble-shoots equipment and experimental difficulties Contributes to internal/external reports Coordinates and organizes resources needed to complete the task Experience in a Biopharmaceutical working environment a plus The ideal candidate would possess: Ability to follow established protocols Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies Strong scientific, organizational, and computer skills with particular focus on sample tracking and large data sets Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude Experience with assay development and troubleshooting strongly preferred Previous experience with clinical samples in a regulated environment preferred Basic Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major) A minimum of two years demonstrated proficiency working with RNA including extraction, QC, and manipulation Experience with a variety of expression profiling platforms a plus
