Position Summary:
The BIS Manager is a high visibility direct client interface position with Crowes bankruptcy clients. The position requires a multi-skilled individual with extensive knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, superlative communication skills (both written and oral) and extensive bankruptcy and restructuring experience. The position reports directly to the NY BIS partner and is responsible for both client origination and service performance.
Skill sets required include:
This position will assist the BIS partner in identifying potential new client opportunities, marketing and servicing BIS clients. Potential BIS clients include financially troubled entities and their stakeholders including Boards of Directors, creditors (both secured and unsecured creditor committees) and chapter 11 and 7 trustees. The position requires a multi-skilled individual with extensive knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, superlative communication skills (both oral and written) and extensive bankruptcy and insolvency experience. The individual must possess strong accounting skills, knowledge of GAAP and GAAS and modeling skills for restructuring assignments. The candidate must also have extensive contacts in the bankruptcy community and have a proven track record in marketing and originating new engagement assignments. Because the headcount of the NY BIS practice is limited, the candidate must be willing to work on all phases of the engagement
Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years of experience with Bankruptcy and Insolvency cases and financial restructuring for financially troubled entities including chapter 11 entities.
CPA
Advanced degree (MBA, JD) is highly desirable
Multiple certifications including but not limited to CFF, CFE, ASA, ABV,CVA, CrFA, CIRA
Active in professional groups such as ABI, TMA, NYIC, AIRA, NY State CPA Society, NY State and/or NY City Bar Association-Bankruptcy Division
Proven ability to successfully originate new business and market to existing and new client candidates
Strong origination experience
Superlative communication skills
