Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with Business Units, Product Development, and Product Management teams to identify and answer important business and product questions. Communicate insights to executive leadership

Formulate profit maximizing ecommerce strategies for various product categories across differing functional business units

Apply rigorous analytical methods and analyze levers that can drive growth and profitability across our product and services offerings and customer segments worldwide
-
Research, evaluate, implement, and present statistical methods to provide actionable insights
-
Define new metrics and help drive business/engineering team using the right metrics
-
Research new ways for modeling and predicting user behavior
-
Influence Staples go to market strategy, by category, by business unit, and customer segment (where applicable), worldwide
-
Research, design and implement data models and cutting edge algorithms to analyze diverse sources of data
-
Work with high dimensional and fast moving data to build continually learning systems and through your work have direct impact on revenue and bottom line
Qualifications:
-
Bachelors Degree in quantitative field such as statistics, operations research, psychology, economics or computer science.

Strong understanding of statistical principles and data analysis.
-
Moderate to advanced programming ability in at least one of the following languages: Java, Python or R; ability to develop proficiency in all three languages.

Ability to work with and query relational databases using SQL.

Ability to work independently and to collaborate with internal and external partners.

Ability to translate technical findings to a non-technical audience and present project information to senior leadership and policy makers.

Good organizational skills, time management, attention to detail and high standards of quality are essential.
