Position Description:
Attwood Corporation, a Brunswick Company, is the world’s leading manufacturer of marine accessories for the boating industry, including a wide range of seating, hardware, fuel systems, navigational lighting, pumps, and other electro-mechanical components.
We currently have an opportunity for a motivated, self-directed Distribution Supervisor to lead our team members and enjoy being part of a team that is set on achieving operational excellence. This position will allow the chosen candidate to manage and set direction for our distribution center in order to meet future sales growth. The position also provides opportunities for the selected individual to learn and expand into other areas of the company.
Primary responsibilities for this position will include:
• Lead the departments to meet goals, budgets and quality levels.
• Select, train and coach employees to provide for a strong positive team environment.
• Manage the plant continuous improvement program centered on driving improvements in cost, productivity, quality, team member involvement and moral.
• Maintain strong employee relations through various proactive formal and informal departmental communication strategies
• Troubleshoot and resolve daily issues in cooperation with Quality, Scheduling, Maintenance and Sales.
• Consistently apply company policies and procedures.
Successful candidates will have 5 + years experience supervising/managing distribution operations. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing or business preferred. Experience with implementing and managing Lean Manufacturing & 5S Principles, safety requirements, and continuous improvement programs/projects preferred. Exposure to Six Sigma Principles and Green Belt certification is a plus. This individual will have excellent problem solving skills, the ability to handle multiple projects as well as strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with a wide range of employees to meet departmental goals. Logistics / carrier management experience a plus. Must have ability to work varying shifts and times throughout the year based on production needs.
