IT Project Manager, Business Systems

Role Purpose The Project Manager will be the IT representative for a systems support team servicing Asset Management, Labor & Resource Scheduling, Facility Services, EHS, Security and Crisis Management functions within NBCUniversal Responsibilities • Serve as the primary IT point of contact for various NBCUniversal business areas throughout the organization • Manage application development through the systems development life cycle from initiation through closure • Document business processes & requirements for new and existing software development efforts • Document intersystem and technical requirements and data flows • Create use cases, storyboards and user experience simulations • Facilitate and manage application outage management processes including software and hardware troubleshooting towards resolution • Provide ongoing engagement and communications to business and IT management • Manage and monitor multiple application interfaces, including success and failure email notifications, and take corrective action as required • Provide project management and manage project communications according to PMI and NBCUniversal processes • Develop and deliver presentations to executive, business stakeholders and IT Management • Generate and analyze quality metrics and reports for business and IT Management • Conduct cost benefit analysis for project initiatives • Ensure the quality of services and solutions to application user base, other application owners and IT technical teams • Manage ongoing process improvement initiatives • Formulate tactical plans and strategic roadmaps in support of business and IT needs • Participate in industry events and interact with subject matter experts to understand emerging technologies • Partner with other technology groups within NBCUniversal to identify relevant products and services • Collaborate with other IT and technology groups to identify achievable solutions, manage scope and project budgets • Liaise with IT leaders outside of internal department providing technology services to various business functions throughout NBCUniversal • Assess and arrange for ongoing training of application user base • Be an advocate for business partners servicing different functions throughout NBCUniversal; Asset Management; Facility Services; Labor and Resource Scheduling; EHS; Security and Crisis Management, Cable • Promote lean business and IT processes


Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree and minimum 3 years relevant work experience in an Information Technology function • Minimum 3 years work experience in project management of software solutions • Minimum 3 years work experience in business consulting, or technical support role • Ability to travel 10%, including overnight stays • Must be willing to work onsite at group's New York offices • Must be willing to work nights and weekends as part of ongoing business support, as needed Eligibility Requirements • Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through www.nbcunicareers.com to be considered • Must be willing to work in New York, NY • Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States • Must be 18 years or older


• Media Entertainment industry experience strongly desired • Work experience in either a business consulting or technology services in the Media Entertainment industry • Work experience managing labor scheduling, financial or payroll systems • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization • Strong Time Management skills to address issues and complete assigned tasks in set deadline • Working knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, Scrum or Rapid Development processes • Ability to communicate effectively to business and technical teams • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and initiatives • Demonstrated negotiation and problem resolution skills • Experience with managing technical solutions vendors • Experience with software and load testing processes • Experience/familiarity with digital media concepts: encoding, transcoding, streaming, rights management, watermarking, media formats, media transfer technologies, etc. • Familiarity with Labor and Resource Scheduling; Asset Management; Security & Crisis Management; Cable; and Facility Services systems and concepts • Knowledge of production/post-production workflows (Scripted & Reality) • Familiarity with enterprise system rollouts • Demonstrates Executive Presence • Ability to think analytically, strategically, not just tactically • Ability to estimate project effort and maintain project budgets • Ability to generate and review Statement of Work (SOW) documents and software agreements • Ability to generate and manage: status reports, meeting minutes, and change or outage notifications • Ability to manage multiple applications servicing different functional areas • Ability to analyze and review service level agreements reports and service quality • Proven ability to manage a software development virtual, offshore, and onsite teams • GE or NBCUniversal IMLP graduate • Six Sigma or equivalent methodology experience • Technical skills: SQL Server, Oracle, Java, .NET, JBOSS, Mobile devices, IIS • Technical toolsets: Rational tools, SharePoint, MS Project, Visio, Office, Project and Portfolio Management (PPM)
