Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Applications Developer has primary responsibility for building maintainable and highly scalable business critical applications that operate 24/7/365.
* Translates software requirements into concise and robust programming code.
* Participates in planning games, code reviews, and iteration demos.
* Serves as an internal technical resource.
* Provides tier 4 support for customer issues by meeting with development support.
* Provides exceptional customer service that maintains or increases current customer satisfaction levels.
* Maintains documentation according to content and timing standards.
* Learns proprietary products (e.g., usage, work flow, backend coding), as well as the support model and technologies in order to effectively serve clients.
Other Duties
1. Proactively generates relevant ideas for new and improved use of technology
2. Participates in development activities to continually learn more about technology and development.
3. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, MIS, or related field
Experience, Knowledge and Tools
At least 5 years of development experience, including:
-Developing multi-tier software applications with a focus on desk top solutions.
-Planning and executing coding in Microsoft.Net and C#.
-Utilizing advanced analytical skills to problem solve and debug.
-Adapting quickly to changing requirements, deadlines, priorities, and technologies.
-Communicating technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
-Mentoring teammates and junior developers
-Creating and maintaining technical and business documentation.
-Data modeling concepts
-Agile, Waterfall, or similar SDLC methodology
Tools:
-Troubleshooting tools (e.g., remote access tools, Windows Support tools, connectivity tests)
-MS SQL Server Management Studio or equivalent
-Visual Studio
-SQL Profiler
-IIS Administration Console
Incident and Defect tracking tools (ex: SalesForce.com, Version One)
-Debug Tools
Preferred Experience:
-Developing user interface experience.
-Utilizing SQL Management studio, or equivalent.
-Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
