NYR - Senior Underwriter

Position Description

- Underwrite a Specialty Casualty book of business comprised of primary and excess general liability, primary and excess products liability, excess transportation, and primary and excess construction business.

- Handle between 50 and 70 renewals.

- Build and maintain relationships with brokers in New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

- Negotiate with brokers within limits of delegated authority in accordance with underwriting standards.

- Achieve rate increases on business where there is need while maintaining a high renewal retention.

- Grow Lexington's higher margin classes of business.

- Collaborate with other divisions of AIGs to generate cross sell opportunities.

Position Requirements

- 5+ years of Casualty Experience.

- 3+ years of Casualty underwriting experience.

- Strong presentation and marketing skills.

- Experience with formal broker meetings.

- Must have excellent negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
