Client located in the Los Angles/San Bernardino area of California is looking for an Electrical/Controls Technician with 5-10+ years of experience working in a boiler/steam turbine power plant. This is a contract position that may turn into a permanent position for the right candidate. Our client is looking for local candidates or candidates willing to relocate on their own.
Responsibilities for the Operator
- Perform the day to day, daily operations and periodic preventative maintenance activities for a steam power plant
- Help operate and maintain electrical, instrumentation and control systems at the plant
- Responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis
- Respond to alarms by taking appropriate actions and execute plant shut-down and start-up procedures
- After training, you will work 12 hour shifts
Requirements for the Operator
- You need experience troubleshooting both electrical and controls systems in a heavy industrial plant environment (power, refinery, pulp & paper, etc...) either as an Electrician, Technician or Operator
- Any experience performing engine maintenance & repairs (like oil servicing, replacing spark plugs, adjusting engine valve clearances & replacing heads) would be ideal
- You need experience using electrical instruments & tools.
- Client will consider candidates that have experience as a Navy MM or BT or any other rate of nuke (EM,ET,ELT,MM).
- In a 14 day schedule you will work 2 on, 2 off, 5 on, 5 off and every other weekend is off.
