About the Opportunity
Candidate is expected to be familiar with architecture, logical and physical design, automation, documentation, installs, shell scripting, PL/SQL programming, backup & recovery concepts, database and query tuning. Candidate must have good analytical, verbal and written skills. Oracle 11g experience required.
Responsibilities
Full life cycle support of client's database(s). Responsible for physical and logical design of databases, database backup and recovery, database patching, database upgrades and performance tuning. The candidate Will also be required to work with developers to design and build new database structures to support future enhancements to the applications. Candidate must have good analytical, verbal and written skills. Must be willing to share 24 x 7 on call responsibilities with other team members
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of 5 years of experience working with ORACLE database systems on UNIX. Oracle DBA (Full Life Cycle Support)
11g experience (RAC setup/configuration greatly preferred)
Partitioning
PL/SQL
Good performance and tuning skill set
Shell scripting
Preferred:
Database patching
Database Cloning
RMAN
SQL Server administration skills.
Data Guard
Oracle support in .NET environment
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Oracle 10g or 11g OCP
Experience with Materialized Views
Education
4 year degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (or equivalent experience).
