Payroll Specialist

Our client, in Farmington Hills, Michigan (MI) is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their team. This dynamic and hard working professional must possess the following skills that are required to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accurately process biweekly payroll in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations for all company employees

  • Maintain the payroll changes file and payroll reports

  • Reconcile payroll and ensure quarterly payroll tax filing is accurate

  • Provide recommendations for processes, policies and procedures to improve process and ensure efficiency/accuracy

  • Maintain ADP file number spreadsheet, to ensure no duplicate numbers are assigned

  • Administration of employee health and other benefit programs, including 401K

  • Assist with the organizing and coordinating of the Open Enrollment process

  • Ensure all benefit invoices are paid and plans are active

  • Produce benefit enrollment, benefits deduction, and plan participation reports

  • Administer Payroll HRIS system to ensure security, appropriate access, passwords resets and adding users

  • Prepare and maintain standard and ad hoc reports in ADP for HR Users

  • Investigate and resolve payroll or benefit questions and claim issues for employees and local HR Managers

  • Run reports in ADP

  • Develop reports and systems in ADP to streamline the payroll process and eliminate errors at the local HR level

  • Other duties as assigned

Payroll Specialist Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, not a must

  • 7+ years of strong payroll experience

  • Strong knowledge of ADP is a must

  • CPP designation is preferred

  • Experience with multi-state and multi-facility is preferred
