• Oversee account teams assigned to key partner relationships on a global basis including the following job functions:
Develop and implement a business plan for each marketing partner
Lead in the identification, creation and selling of opportunities to further develop each partner's relationship
Manage and grow relationships with partners and their agencies
Lead account teams to expand partner relationships; develop and implement strategies to create unique partner specific marketing programs
• Oversee development of near and long-term marketing strategies for each partner, while driving partnership revenues across multiple league platforms
• Develop strategic sales, business and marketing plans for each partner, taking into account current and past activities as well as future opportunities
• Manage the renewal process for each partner
• Identify and pursue additional revenue / upsell opportunities
• Cultivate proactive relationships with all internal and external constituents to provide a perspective to the issues and opportunities that face each group
• Use both qualitative and quantitative research to support efforts to further distinguish the benefits of associating with the league
• Provide organizational leadership and lead cross-functional teams
• Serve as part of the Global Marketing Partnerships department senior leadership team
• Manage staff of 4-8 staff and provide appropriate leadership and development of team
• Travel approximately 25%
• Successful consultative expertise in developing marketing and event strategies for clients and a strong understanding of marketing and promotions, including expertise in developing and implementing successful multi-market marketing programs
• Proven experience in negotiations
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong understanding of sports and entertainment sponsorship, including promotions, events, media and contracts
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and creatively solve day-to-day challenges
• Excellent business writing and presentation skills
• Proven ability to lead a team, mentor and train subordinates
• Strong background in strategic brand and partnership marketing
• Analytical/conceptual abilities and a capacity for creativity/innovation
• 15+ years of increasingly responsible positions in marketing environments and will have a track record of successfully managing client relations at senior level
• Agency, league, consulting and/or sports/entertainment company with a strong focus on global client solutions
• Proven ability to manage a team
• International business experience preferred
• College degree Required
• MBA preferred
