Position Description:

Manages Corporate projects which cross divisional lines and also interfaces with outside vendors and business partners. This position is responsible to personally manage projects of the highest visibility and most strategic importance or critical nature to the corporation, and will be accountable for the successful implementation of those projects. This position is also responsible to train, develop, and direct the activities of several Project Managers, each managing several different projects of their own. Responsibilities for projects run by Project Managers reporting in to this position include the successful implementation of those projects and acting as Project Assurance Representative.


Position Requirements:

• Coordinates the successful implementation of projects with the Business Manager and IT Project Manager (if a systems project). Projects managed will generally involve multiple clients participating in each phase and the Senior Project Manager role will exercise approval over final decisions. Also, must be able to assemble an appropriate team and manage the project, getting all team members to accomplish tasks on time and within budget, without direct authority.


• Coordinates the successful implementation of projects when training/directing other Project Managers with that Project Manager, Business Manager and IT Project Manager (if a systems project).


• Responsible to plan and manage the work flow of Project Managers under direct supervision. Responsibilities include training Project Managers in project management processes, developing their skills in project management, assessing preparedness to handle work assignments and providing feedback of same to the Director of Project Management to assist in making work assignments.


• Coordinate the management of multiple projects running concurrently, plus personally manage projects of critical importance to the company. Projects managed will include Projects, Project Definitions, and Project Assurances, in addition to the specific management of projects themselves.


• Determine when projects should be phased, and formulate recommendations for management on priorities when phasing large projects.


• Responsible for all the planning, working and

• implementation phases of a project, with multiple clients participating in each phase. Responsibilities of successful project manager include: a. Responsible to manage and follow the project methodology for all phases of the project. b. Scheduling activities necessary for completion and follow-through to ensure tasks are completed on time with efficiency. c. Identification of resources and coordination of expertise. d. Completion of integrated plan for FIC with all FIC detailed tasks associated to the project and tracking the plan daily. e. Managing outside resources as necessary. f. Effectively implement the change management process and escalation procedures. g. Track cost accounting for the project. h. Ensure project objectives are met in a timely, controlled and quality manner. i. Consistently communicate status of projects to management. j. Assess the success of managed projects, and determine and implement process improvements necessary to improve future projects.


• Assigned as a Project Assurance Representative on many projects at the same time. A Project Assurance Representative ensures that the Project Management methodologies and processes are being followed and acts as a consultant to others in the Company regarding Project Management techniques.


• The Senior Project Manager will receive special assignments from the Director of Project Management, including acting as a backup for the Director as necessary.


• Responsible to manage and direct/train other Project Managers to mange Project Definition efforts, which may involve varying levels of management. This also includes assembling a team, analyzing various system alternatives, making recommendations, developing proposed solutions, and making presentations to management.
