Position Summary:

AIG has an opening for an Underwriting Analyst in its Financial Institutions Group.

Performance Objectives:

•Technical Expertise: Keep current on economic trends and regulatory changes in the lending realm with particular focus on potential impact; profitability of the industry via new liabilities; opportunity to generate new business via new coverages to address new liabilities; and assist in determining the direction of underwriting decision-making.

•Production: Research, analyze and negotiate coverage for banking and non-bank lending firms with a particular focus on organizational structure for legal liability, governance, credit/asset quality, loan underwriting philosophy and historical performance.

•Service: Participate in the development and management of broker and Insured relationships, taking the lead on specified brokerage houses, regions. Participate in underwriting meetings with Insureds and New Business targets to discuss and assess their operations and risks.

Position Requirements

The Ideal Candidate Should Have:

•Basic computer skills.

•Superior written and interpersonal communication skills.

•Training or experience in financial and economic analysis.

•Bachelors degree in a related subject (accounting or finance degree preferred but not required).

•Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key producers and confidently discuss AIG’s capabilities and the features of its specialty lines products.

•Ability to work with others in collaboration.
