The Account Manager is responsible for generating deep penetration in reprocessing programs through ongoing management of account relationships at all levels within the facility as required. This position will manage all aspects of the customer selling lifecycle in order to achieve consistent, profitable and sustainable sales revenue through the promotion, selling, supporting and servicing of Sterilmed’s portfolio of solutions to customers. This position will work in cooperation with the Strategic Accounts Team and Field Service in developing and maintaining key strategic business relationships in alignment with Health Care Compliance Guidelines.


The Account Manager (AM) will professionally promote medical device reprocessing and new solution offerings as they become available within the healthcare industry in their assigned territory. The AM will execute the selling process in a manner that is concise, compliant, professional, ethical and persuasive; and which leads the customer to take action. The Account Manager will oversee and execute the implementation and account development processes of clients using Sterilmed solutions and build excellent customer relations with key physicians and hospital personnel.


The AM will understand account needs and the role that physicians, nurses, support staff and hospital administration play in the sales process to establish plans and solutions that meet short and long term needs. Monitor hospital strategies and marketplace developments and communicate to business partners to develop account strategy. The AM will be responsible for developing sales plan by account and by category using sales planning tools; sales plans must incorporate risk mitigation. The Account Manager will optimize customer savings by anticipating and/or recognizing account issues and then be able to create, communicate, implement and follow up on a corrective action plan.


Responsibilities also include meeting on a regular basis with hospital administrators, departmental directors and managers in order to review their saving results and explore opportunities for incremental savings by conveying the value proposition. Continually optimize sales revenue at existing customers, particularly via the education/orientation of physicians and clinical staff to ensure support of Sterilmed programs. Demonstrate the ability to handle customer product questions and objections in a way that is consistent with sales training methodology.


The Account Manager will function as the primary account owner and communicate and work with internal cross functional teams to resolve product issues, develop, assess and launch new products and improve our service approach and solutions. Work with Strategic Accounts to support acquisition of new business opportunities.


Other responsibilities include maintaining and updating account information and providing sales reports upon request of the Regional Business Director in order to assess the status of territory objectives, account activity and describe market trends and/or competitive activity. The Account Manager will be responsible for being a subject matter expert on Sterilmed solutions with knowledge of organizational resources available for account development such as Business Conduct Policy, HCC, and other Sterilmed/J&J policies and procedures.


Qualifications


Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years sales experience. Experience analyzing and tracking sales data with the ability to take appropriate action to correct negative sales trends is required. Prior experience in the medical device industry is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. All candidates must have a valid driver's license issued in one of the 50 States along with a clean driving record and must be willing to travel as needed or required, depending on the geography. Experience in project oriented selling situations in a high incentive and individual performance culture, along with a documented successful sales performance (high growth, results vs. plan) are preferred. Experience selling within the OR, GI or EP is highly desired.
