Application Support Engineer---UnitedHealth Group, San Diego CA

Description:

An Application Support Engineer is responsible for assisting with the implementations, updates, and troubleshooting of OptumInsights' CAC (Computer Assisted Coding) applications. This role works with Client Services, Implementation Engineering, Implementation Services, Support, NLP developers and domain experts, to identify problem sources and take corrective actions. An Application Support Engineer reports to the Application Support Manager or Director of Application Support. Primary Responsibilities: Troubleshoot a wide range of issues for both live and preview customers Assist in customer implementations Identify and initiate resolutions to user problems and concerns associated with application server equipment (hardware and software) Partner with project teams and interact with customers to find solutions for projects and operational issues Provide standardization and consistency across environments Uphold enterprise policy guidelines and recommend new/improved guidelines

Qualifications:


Requirements:



  • BachelorĂ¢s Degree required

  • 3+ years of development experience (Java / .NET)

  • 3+ years of troubleshooting and/or customer support experience

  • 1+ years of SQL experience (basic queries) Assets:

  • BachelorĂ¢s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a Computer-related discipline

  • Experience with development in Java and/or .NET

  • Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming

  • Experience with writing SQL queries

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Strong troubleshoot skills

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to self prioritize tasks

  • Ability to work in both a large team environment and independently.

  • Healthcare experience is highly preferred

  • Agile HL7 experience is highly preferred
