Major Media brand is seeking a strong candidate to join our Business Intelligence team. This is a 3 month minimum contract to hire opportunity. In this data heavy role, you will work on three of our flagship brands to support key business and product development decisions through meaningful insights derived from quantitative analysis and analytics.

Some of what you will be doing includes:

-Formulating and performing data mining, mathematical modeling, statistical/quantitative analyses, experiments (A/B testing), optimization and predictive analytics, data investigation

-Reporting to support product, research, sales, market intelligences, and management teams

-Delivering quantitative findings, and formulating meaningful conclusions and recommendations

-Draw inferences about user behaviors, consumption pattern, and content performance across platforms and devices

-Designing, improving, and automating processes related to tracking and reporting

-Developing data programs to educate effective product development and

optimizations

Required:

-Experience with news, video, social networking, advertising, and digital entertainment industries

-Minimum 2 years relevant working experience (in a similar role) with strong technical analytical ability and data mining skills

-Excellent statistical intuition, application, and knowledge of various analytical approaches

-Extensive experience querying large, complex, and raw data sets in Teradata/Hive/Hadoop databases.

-Advanced SQL with statistical software (preferably R)

-Proficient with video/web analytics and tools (Omniture, Tableau)

-Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint

Minimum Bachelor’s degree: Math, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related

Bonus:

-Experience with: PHP, C, Perl, Python

-Experience with internal and external APIs
