The Clinical Education Consultant primary focus is to provide clinical expertise through consultation, education and training of ASP's products to both internal and external customers. The key activity is to provide best-practice solutions to customers in partnership with the Account Executive in the execution of plans that meet or exceed the Company's business objectives.


This CEC will be responsible for developing long- term customer relationships, which build loyalty and confidence in ASP as the preferred vendor as well as being responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with strategic accounts while positioning and delivering economic and value-related solutions. The CEC functions as a clinical expert to ASP staff on new product development/ launches, market changes/ trends and the identification of customer driven needs and/or requests as well as follows up on clinical customer issues and provides information to ASP team representing the voice of the customer. The CEC also communicates business opportunities to the sales team in a timely manner.


The CEC engages in ongoing assessment and evaluation of ASP products in the market, works collaboratively with Sales and Marketing to achieve business objectives and plans and delivers educational programs and training to ASP employees as well as plans, develops and implements customer educational programs to meet current and future customer needs. The CEC will collaborate with Professional Education and Sales Training on the development of all educational material, e.g. videos, CD for both internal and external customers.


The CEC will maintain and expand clinical/technical knowledge of all ASP products. They will be responsible for planning, prioritizing and managing a work schedule which meets customer expectations in a timely and cost effective manner, as well as managing a budget within established targets. They will serve as the Clinical Education Consultant representative on ASP committees/initiatives and maintain active membership in professional organization(s) to continue professional growth and development.

Qualifications


A minimum of a BS/BA required. A RN or BSN is required. Master's degree in healthcare related field preferred. Management or leadership experience is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of current clinical experience in OR (Operating Room) and /or SPD (Sterile Processing Department) and/or Endoscopy suite or 10 years clinical experience in medical device is required. Minimum 3 years experience in delivering educational programs/presentations preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required. Must have strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically. Must have highly developed interpersonal/people skills, articulate and effective communication skills (written and verbal) at all levels are required as well as demonstrated customer focus and strong relationship building skills. Must have strong team building and partnering skills; must also have strong presentation skills, both preparing and delivering. Knowledge of sterilization and high-level disinfection is required. Clinical expertise in surgical instrumentation including endoscopic instruments is required. Knowledge of Sterilization or High level Disinfection or Surgical/Invasive procedures is required. Knowledge of Preoperative nursing standards, infection control standards, SGNA guidelines and SPD guidelines for practice are preferred. Knowledge of purchasing practices in healthcare organizations is preferred as well as Knowledge of operating and capital budgets. Knowledge of federal and state regulatory agencies, AAMI, OSHA, JCAHO is preferred. This position requires up to 75% travel including overnights. Candidates must live within 1 hour of an airport. Candidates must have a positive motor vehicle record as evidenced by possession of a valid driver's license.
