OVERVIEW:


The DW ETL Administrator is responsible for handling the ETL Administration role (ETL Tool Configuration, Module Design and Development, Data Mining and Acquisition, and Metadata Management) within the Data Warehousing team. This individual will be the authority on their area of expertise as it relates to implementation of Data Warehouses within the Healthcare Division.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


General



  • Act as a SME (Final Authority) in area(s) of expertise on DSS/DW installations

  • Provide as needed DW enhancement and maintenance as defined in agreements


ETL Administration



  • User Provisioning and Security

  • Assist with the integration of Toolset to Data Sources

  • Monitor and improve performance of the ETL applications

  • Work with the Data Center to determine data storage and data archiving needs


ETL Application Development



  • Construct and/or configure applications for data interfaces and conversion

  • Customize, configure and utilize ETL tools as needed

  • Validate and maintain applications according to functionality and performance requirements

  • Provide input to Product Development on ETL requirements for implementations


Metadata Management



  • Design and/or construct ETL metadata management applications and procedures

  • Provide input regarding metadata management content


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of IT experience with 2 years focused in data warehousing or business intelligence

  • Experience with ETL processes and applications (DataStage preferred)

  • Experience in Data Mining techniques and analysis

  • Demonstrated success in implementing on-time DW/BI systems

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with cross functional workgroups

  • Ability to adapt and flourish in a fast-paced business environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experience with one or more RDBMS (Oracle, Teradata, DB2)

  • Experience with one or more BI/DW applications (e.g., Cognos, Business Objects)

  • Experience in the healthcare field

  • Mid-range system experience (Sun, HP, IBM)
