Description
The Director of Government Relations will manage government relations operations relating to Tenets Texas hospitals along with special corporate functions, involving day-to-day interaction with Home Office, regional, hospital, and trade association staff and lobbyists and working within multi-disciplinary teams.
Duties & Areas of Responsibility
Analyzing potential legislative and regulatory threats for impact on the business and degree of risk/opportunity, as well as developing strategic responses
Establishing and maintaining relationships with elected officials at the state and local levels, in concert with VP, Government Relations and other Senior Leadership
Establishing and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders and third-party endorsers, to proactively shape public policy impacting heath care, including liaison duties with the Texas Hospital Association
Creating key reports
Coordinates contributions budget, supports Federal initiatives (grassroots, advocacy), represents department at assigned meetings, and manages other GR programs as assigned.
Responsibilities also include maintaining communication with internal and external stakeholders and lobbyists.
Serve as Government Liaison on the Corporate Incident Command Center (CICC)
Continue to serve Sierra Providence Health Network as Government Relations leader
Qualifications
Minimum of bachelors degree in related discipline.
Minimum of five years relevant work experience, including service in a Texas state legislative office, agency, corporation or trade association focusing on issues relevant to hospitals or health care delivery.
Self-starter with ability to work independently and oversee multiple projects.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
