Director of Information Technology



Position Summary


This is a Las Vegas based position at our service center whose primary responsibilities include providing oversight on support and use of the applications used in the enterprise, establishment of system and application standards, participating in identifying and implementing system solutions for the business while understanding the business operations and working effectively to prioritize and implement required solutions. Extensive interaction and collaboration with IT Property Directors and their staff as well as with Corporate IT staff is required.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define the direction for core and ancillary applications.

  • Identify and manage upgrades and/or installations of applications.

  • Manage implementation and project teams, which could include knowledge workers, applications, operations, technical support and vendors.

  • Provide ideas and suggestions for new products, services, technology and processes to ensure Pinnacle Entertainment’s competitive position and in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality and gaming environment.

  • Interface with vendors, executing appropriate management controls for projects, procurement and activities.

  • Understand and execute required business solutions and is able to clearly define and write business requirements.

  • Work effectively with all support areas within IT.

  • Works with the properties to ensure critical path items are identified and tracked.

  • Analyze the technical performance and reliability of products, systems and services against identified industry standards to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Support and promote enterprise standards.

  • Research and recommend system development priorities.

  • Assist with formulating departmental policy and procedures and recommends new or revised standards, procedures, and policies.

  • Participate in forecasting trends and long-term planning for the department.

  • Implement long-term plans.

  • Use non-traditional/creative approaches to problem-solving.

  • Mentor, coach and develop IT personnel.

  • Specific Knowledge of standard products installed at Pinnacle Entertainment; in addition, know top competing products and services that may expand the business.

  • Able to define and enforce corporate products and standards.

  • Understand and comply with all appropriate regulations.

  • Adheres to the company’s status quo third party representation philosophy, complies with company policies, legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements.

  • Understands and utilizes all appropriate tools such as MS Project, Word, Excel, etc.

Required Education and Work Experience



  • Minimum 8 years experience in Information Technology,

  • Work experience in related Gaming Operations can qualify toward experience.

  • Ability to assume responsibility for independent/self directed action.

  • Preferred experience with specific applications that would be supported by this position.
