Director of Revenue Cycle - Conifer Health Solutions

The Revenue Cycle Director (RCD) is focused on growing Conifer's revenue and EBIT, reputation and image by servicing, and retaining client accounts. Critical responsibilities include: (a) engaging key client executive management to understand needs and business strategies; (b) working with Conifer internal business colleagues to assess, develop, price and recommend service solutions; (c) educating the client, alongside the Transition Management Team (TMT) and then individually and in collaboration with Training beyond go-live. Educational topics to include: Conifer's governance process, e.g., establishment and monitoring performance objectives or service level agreements (SLAs), monthly meetings, standard reporting package, and scope of work; (d) report with peer-level operations personnel client profitability, underlying metrics, and EBIT improvement opportunities to ensure it meets/exceeds the expected margin; and (e) immediately address scope creep via regular contract audits to actual. The RCD maintains active and involved, broad client executive relationships (CFO, CIO, COO, CMO, CEO), advises clients in a proactive manner the next areas of mutual opportunity, and works with sales/marketing to communicate key initiatives and report market trends and needs.


Follow general guidelines for RCD Task Frequency in the attached Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly / Annually grid, to ensure the role is executed sufficiently.


Duties and responsibilities to include:



  • P&L Management - For each client account, be knowledgeable in and report on monthly, revenue and EBIT, and the breakdown for each. Grow to be conversant in the underlying operations and client environmental and placement metrics that drive the ebbs and flows in revenue and EBIT, and affect positive movement in each on a peer-level dotted line relationship with strategy, operations, and sales. Flash Revenue and provide color commentary weekly for contingency deals; flash fixed fee expected and progress towards achieving any performance bonuses provided for in the contract.

  • Client Management -- Serve as primary day-to-day point-of-contact for Client Executives and other key sponsors and onsite Conifer Staff present a knowledgeable, efficient, and professional image of Conifer by handling business in a respectful and professional demeanor, and excel in the following activities:

    - Client Advisor - Rise to the level of trusted advisor to Clients, with respect to Client's own performance, industry revenue cycle trends, and new revenue cycle technologies.Reporting and Analytics (internal) - Be knowledgeable and report with peer- level operations colleagues on current operating, analytic, and income performance, as well as plans to improve.

    Reporting and Analytics (external - to client) - Prepare and present to client monthly performance reporting, as contracted and appropriate (standards, format addressed under separate cover).

    Development and presentation on a monthly basis to Conifer Executives Client Plans (Business Reviews), partnering with business units, Strategy and other teams.

    Project Management - Team with PMO (process addressed under separate cover) and other internal and client teams on projects such as rollout of new services/capabilities and key client engagements.Relationship Management -- Facilitate and maintain client relationships through regular, pro-active communication, timely follow-through on client requests and coordination of internal resources to meet client needs and account Client Plan goals)

  • Ongoing Client Leadership and Remediation (Issue Resolution). Identifies performance degradation and reaches out to the Conifer operations colleagues to ensure a mitigation plan has been implemented for the client. Reports on performance to client leadership, and regularly quantifies the benefit/accomplishments Conifer has delivered. Collaborates with on-site Conifer resources in service delivery and problem solving to maximize solution offering and client satisfaction. Provides comprehensive, succinct updates to Conifer Senior Leadership in order to drive awareness of any Client support requirements and/or risks that could impact service delivery.

  • Sales, Renewals, Strategic Marketing and Implementation Involvement. Actively seek opportunities to expand Conifer's footprint with each client, and retains clients through the development of strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers.

    Performs proactive strategic account reviews with all clients on a regular basis to validate service needs and performance, resulting in contract renewals. Provides support on sales renewals.

    Implements effective on-boarding of clients/new services by assisting the PMO of a Service Delivery Solution tailored to meet specific client needs. Ensures successful Service Delivery by identifying client needs and managing expectations. Works closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Strategy to develop sales/marketing strategies targeted to their accounts. Interprets and communicates strategic information to Sales and Operations management to ensure competitive strategies are understood and executed

  • Assists in the development of presentations for local and/or regional HFMA/Industry events representing the client's performance in collaboration with other RCDs, Strategy, Marketing, Operations, and Sales to increase sales, profitability and market share.

  • Company Policy. Adheres to all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to those identified within the Standards of Business Conduct and the Employee Handbook, as may be amended from time to time. Adheres to all applicable laws and regulations and the company's governance/compliance program. Responsible for reporting violations of the company's policies and procedures, Standards of Business Conduct, Compliance, governance program, laws and regulations through the company's Help Line or other mechanism that may be available at the time of the violation. Assists with internal control failure remediation efforts.

  • Internal Controls and Training. Becomes knowledgeable of internal control responsibilities through training and instruction. Responsible and accountable for internal control performance within their area of responsibility. Participates in the internal controls self-assessment process. Ensures concerns with internal control design or performance and process changes that impact internal control execution are communicated to management


Qualifications



  • Requires an understanding of systems and processes that impact revenue cycle performance and capabilities.

  • Possesses the ability to build trusting relationships with Client Executives at all levels.

  • Possesses analytical ability sufficient to work in a data-heavy environment and to identify trends in the data.

  • Possess business acumen with an emphasis on: effective communication (i.e., listening, written and verbal), negotiation, influencing decision makers, business planning, strategy, problem solving, decision making and time management skills.

  • Understanding of the market, trends, competition, and key pain points for hospital executives.

  • Intermediate MS Office required (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrated experience in managing a client's P&L is essential;

  • Demonstrated experience of the entire acute care hospital revenue cycle processes is required;

  • Understanding of the market, trends, competition, and key pain points for hospital executives.

  • Proven success in project management roles to include developing and implementing business initiatives, change management, and bringing together disparate team members to successfully deliver client solutions

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master of Business Administration (MBA) desired
