Electrified Powertrain Embedded Software Engineer

The Electrified Powertrain Embedded Software Engineer will participate in a team of engineers responsible for the development, integration, build and test/validate of embedded software for hybrid control modules. They will perform software requirements analysis, design (including Simulink/Stateflow), C coding (including code generation using RTW/TargetLink), development test plan creation/execution, software integration, and support HiL validation (module and system) for hybrid control modules.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university

  • Minimum of 3 years embedded software experience with 32 bit micro-controller and embedded C/C++ (hand-coding or generated)

  • Minimum of 2 year experience with MiL/SiL/PiL/HiL testing

  • Proficient in layer structured embedded software development, reusable, scalable, maintainable and testable design practices

  • Experienced in modeling/simulation/development/testing/validation/verification

  • Hardware background (ability to read/understand ECU schematic, identify HW-SW integration issues)

  • Experience with CAN stack, SPI, LIN and Flash Bootloader integration, OSEK OS,or diagnostic management

  • High level of technical problem solving ability

  • Familiarity with SW development tools: emulators, debuggers, CANoe/CANalyzer etc.

  • Ability to manage the suppliers for success


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master of Science degree from an ABET accredited university

  • HEV Powertrain software experience

  • Experience with Freescale 32-bit multicore micro-controllers

  • Experience with AutoSAR and its concepts

  • Familiarity with OBD II

  • Familiarity with CMMI/Spice software development process

  • Understanding of Hybrid System Fundamentals

  • Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently

  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem solving skills
