Job Description
The Client Engineer provides image design, configuration, deployment and support for enterprise wide Windows/Microsoft desktop products. You will demonstrate an ability to interface and consult with all levels of customer and internal Management and Staff, as a Strategic Business Partner to build upon our history of generating outstanding business results. Specific responsibilities will include:
o Participates in the design and development of standard desktop hardware configuration and operating system image development.
o Participates in recommending customer based upgrades and/or improvements to their standard desktop hardware, client configuration and operating system images.
o Support the day-to-day operations of a client configuration group.
o Acts as a liaison to define a customer standard hardware configuration and operating system image.
o Participates in the documentation of specifications for standard desktop hardware and operating system images.
o Participates in Change Release meeting as required to support the release of hardware configurations and operating system images.
o Supports SW deployment and associated tool set.
o Performs the creation, testing, deployment and quality control of images.
o Defines standard hardware configurations for use with an end user computing environment.
o Performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues.
o Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly-defined problems within the client configuration and operating system images.
o Maintains the documentation for the standard desktop hardware configuration, client configuration settings and operation system images.
o Facilitate the development of a high performance service delivery team that excels in delivery of superior customer service - exceeding customer expectations.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
o Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
o Microsoft Certifications
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
o 3+ years in an equivalent large enterprise level IT function providing desktop imaging services with a demonstrated grasp of the knowledge and principles related to enterprise desktop image deployment and support.
o Good understanding SMS, SCCM and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit skills in a Global Environment
o Good Knowledge of VBScript / Visual Basic
o Good knowledge of SQL language a plus
o Deployment of Windows operating system in a Global Environment
o Desktop Virtualization experience (VMWare, HyperV or XEN) a plus
o In depth knowledge of PC hardware systems and architectures
o Excellent Client / Customer Facing skills - building trusted relationships - delivering high value service
o Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
o Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.
o Excellent communication, writing, meeting facilitation.
o The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.
DESIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
o BS/MS in Computer Science will be a plus and candidate must become "CLETS" certified.
o Advanced degree may be substituted for years experience, where applicable
