Financial Analyst

Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst with a strong reporting and operations finance background to expand and strengthen the firms matter budgeting and reporting capabilities. This Position reports to the Director of Matter Budgeting and Project Management and will have significant interactions with the CFO and Partners within the firm. Responsibilities: Enable attorneys to make strategic decisions in a timely manner Regularly prepare matter budget to actual reports Provide ad hoc modeling and benchmarking support Develop and standardize web-based and published reporting formats and packages Work closely with attorneys to respond to client requests for budgets Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts Work with attorneys to evaluate and revise matter staffing mix and Scope assumptions Mine historical data and perform benchmarking analyses Analyze and develop standardized metrics, interpret data and correct for anomalies Determine causes of data quality problems and recommend process improvements Continue to improve and optimize reporting mechanisms of published metrics Raise firms awareness around budgeting offerings Publish portfolio dashboards Update training materials, process and guidelines Within the Scope of this job, consider ways in which you can improve our services and product and overall attorney Experience Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Required 1 to 2 years of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) or in a role where you have analyzed data and performed substantial quantitative modeling and forecasting Prior Experience with statistical modeling a plus Proficient in MS Excel, MS Access, and SQL Experienced working with a financial or budgeting systems a plus Prior Experience working at a law firm is helpful but not Required Excellent verbal and written communication skills with confidence to challenge ideas and propose alternatives Must be self sufficient and able to work independently Can handle occasional tight deadlines and multiple priorities Must be customer service oriented while adhering to process and policies.
