Description
The Infection Control Practitioner/Manager is a qualified professional who is responsible to provide guidance and direction to the Infection Control Program through infection surveillance, consultation and education in hospital epidemiology for the prevention of infections among patients, personnel and visitors, and to provide support of the hospital's Quality Improvement Program.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years experience in acute care hospital setting. Experience for at least 3 years in Infection Control with instruction in epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health and surveillance of infections for all age groups and risk categories preferred. Must be certified in Infection Control by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, INC is preferred. BSN or Medical Microbiology/Epidemiology or related science is required.
