FL Licensed Escrow Officer- Position Description


Position Summary

Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Residential Operations, closes purchase, refinance, small acreage and commercial transactions in a timely and effective manner, managing all aspect of FL state requirements. Assists other branch locations with file audits to ensure compliance with FL statutes.


Essential Job Functions



  • Receipts and reviews purchase agreements.

  • Provides updates to Realtors, lenders, and purchasers on the status of receiving title commitments/preliminary reports, and loan approval instructions from the lender.

  • Reviews title commitments/preliminary reports, relays curative requirements to parties involved and assists as necessary.

  • Coordinates closing dates with clients and customers on title policy options.

  • Reviews closing instructions and documents from lender and prepares HUD settlement statements accordingly.

  • Advises clients and customers on title policy options.

  • Reviews and signs checks

  • Initiates wire transfers

  • Reviews and acknowledges final disbursement summary and ledger upon completion of funding

  • Reviews appropriate documents for timely submission to the county recorder’s office.

  • Reviews escrow accounting reports to resolve any outstanding checks and open file balances.

  • Performs back up as required for daily banking functions.

  • Acts as an effective team member by helping develop other staff members, providing assistance to other staff members as needed and encouraging others to perform at peak levels with core focus on FL requirements.

  • Effectively market his/her own title and escrow services to outside Relators, mortgage companies in a manner that builds or maintains a following of clients who direct new business to the company.

  • Assists in marketing new business and promoting better service to clients and their customers.

  • Follows company policy in all aspects of employment

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Education


  • HS Diploma / GED

  • College degree preferred

  • Must have FL state license


Experience



  • 3-5 years of title, policy and/or escrow experience.




Skills & Knowledge


  • Good verbal and writing communication

  • Strong attention to detail a must

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask

  • Proficient in MS Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook,

  • Florida Policy Issuance and Rate Calculation would be helpful

  • Good knowledge of Florida State Rules would be helpful

  • Experience in multi-state policies issuance would be helpful
