Description
Under the general supervision of the PACU Supervisor and Director of Perioperative Services, the PACU RN is responsible for recovery nursing care and includes coordinating the delivery of care for post-anesthesia patients immediately following surgical procedures, so that the physical, psychological, safety, rehabilitative and education needs of patients and their family members are met. The PACU RN assists post-anesthesia making nursing judgments pertaining to the patient's condition on a routine and emergency basis. Will be responsible for completing patient assessments, set-up, operate and monitor various systems, equipment and instrumentation, and assist with transportation, positioning of patients while providing safe quality care.
The RN actively participates in supporting and meeting the hospital's goals for patient satisfaction and national quality core measures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Professional School of Nursing; Bachelors degree preferred
- Current Professional Nurse License issued and/or recognized by Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
- 1 year PACU, OR, Day Surgery, or similar nursing experience required
