Storage engineer or SAN Engineer

Title : Storage Engineer

Location : Emeryville, CA

Duration :8+months

Position Description The Storage Engineer is responsible for all aspects of managing our Storage Area Network (SAN) and Backup environments. Including, but not limited to, installation, monitoring, provisioning, backup & recovery, and tuning. Methodical troubleshooting, clear communications, and attention to detail are essential traits for achieving success in this role. Configuring and maintaining mission-critical systems in a mid-large scale environment. Responsibilities include strategically planning for the growth of the storage infrastructure and proactively researching and implementing new products as needed. RelayHealth is looking for an experienced Storage Engineer to take on a challenging yet rewarding role in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Requirements 3+ years experience in systems administration

Additional Knowledge & Skills Candidates must have a strong background with various server/storage hardware and operating systems. 3+ years of current experience as a storage engineer. Qualified candidates will have a proven track record of successfully maintaining high availability systems. Candidates must have a solid understanding of enterprise-grade storage technologies (RAID, NAS, SAN, iscsi, etc.) and familiarity with Virtualization Technologies. Diverse platform experience preferable, but in-depth knowledge of EMC, Brocade, Cisco and HP are required. Thin provisioning, data de-duplication, replication/snapshot services, encryption are all highly desired experience. Excellent communication and problem-solving are a must-have, as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Education 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

Certifications/Licensure SNCP certification or EMC Certification preferred
