Structural / Civil Engineer 6511-14079

Job Description:

A leading specialty chemical plant, a leader in the global market place and repeat client of ours, has the immediate requirement for a Structural Engineer / Civil Engineer for their St. Louis, MO area manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

• Manage plant structural and civil inspections for the process units and assemblies. Report results and recommendations as part of the scheduled Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).


• Prepare and develop scope for Technical Service Requests (TSR) as assigned / needed.


• Develop new corporate structural / civil structural standards as well as review existing ones for updates and corrections.


• Use CADD software to prepare, present and document designs


• Prepare structural / civil material and preliminary design to assist project estimator.


• Conduct elevation surveys and field measurements to assist design team


• Work closely with process engineers in developing projects by providing layouts or input as foundation for new designs / projects.


• Prepare and manage the design process for local projects (major and minor) as well as consult team on projects for other corporate locations

Requirements:

• BS in Structural or Civil Engineering REQUIRED


• 7+ years in industrial engineering


• Documented field and project engineering experience required


• Working knowledge of design codes (ACI, AISC, ASCE)


• Excellent attention to detail


• Must be able to work cross functionally with team members at all levels across multiple departments involved in industrial projects


• Experience with structural steel design, concrete and site preparation.


• Chemical Plant experience strongly preferred


• CADD / AutoCAD experience required
