Position Description:
Positions in this job function require specific education/certification/licensure specific to their job.Primary Responsibilities:
Prepares operating or procedure rooms for daily cases.
Maintains appropriate surgical environment for patients.
Assists in updating and maintain surgeon preference cards.
Assists surgeon as required to perform and finish procedures.
Maintain, troubleshoot, clean and disinfect instrumentation, equipment and GI scopes.
Assist in sterile processing as needed.
Maintains courteous rapport and effective communication with staff and surgeons.
Assist in compliance activities to maintain facility accreditation.
Other procedures as assigned by RN and leadership staff.
Current BLS
Moderate work experience within own function.
Some work is completed without established procedures.
Basic tasks are completed without review by others.
Supervision/guidance is required for higher level tasks.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
HS Diploma/GED
Must be a certified surgical tech from an accredited surgical tech school
BLS Certification
Assets:
Ambulatory experience
Ophthalmology and GI experience is helpful
