Fountain Valley Regional Hospital (FVRH) reached a milestone on November 1, 2011 when it celebrated it's 40th anniversary.
The hospital opened in 1971 as Fountain Valley Community Hospital, owned by a group of physicians. Over the years, it expanded in many ways. In the 1980s, the hospital opened a 4-bed NICU and 8-bed PICU. In the 1990s, the Neonatal ICU expanded to 22 beds, the Pediatric ICU expanded to 11 beds, and the hospital added sub-ICU beds and a Bariatric Program.
