Testing and Optimization Manager



Position Objective

The incumbent is responsible for leading a team that analyzes both player database and gaming performance profitability trends. This requires substantial cross-functional collaborative partnering with both the Marketing and Gaming departments. It also necessitates substantial complex and iterative analysis by leveraging the various database systems utilized across the operation. Further, the goal is to interpret, analyze and summarize performance results for review and discussion by Senior Management. The Manager will work with the operations teams to facilitate accurate forecasting, develop ROI’s and assist with any ad hoc analysis.


Position Responsibilities


Player and Gaming Analytics



  • Utilize data warehouse to build operational analyses (i.e. mathematical programming) and regression models to optimize gaming floor.

  • Design and perform hypothesis testing to evaluate the success of cash mail programs.

  • Prepare on-request analysis related to all aspects of player reinvestment and profitabilityincluding comping policy, cash mail testing, and slot and table game yielding decisions.

  • Help design, create and maintain summary reports to track performance in the above areas.

  • Partner with Gaming Operations teams to optimize gaming floor mix.

  • Partner with Marketing to monitor and ascertain performance of players across tiers and across recency, frequency, loyalty, and monetary worth levels.

  • Partner with property teams to answer market-specific analytical questions.

  • Responsible for managing and developing career development paths direct reports.


AD Hoc Analysis



  • Prepare ROI analysis, as needed, on any proposed technology changes.

  • Create graphs, slides, projections, handouts, etc. for Board of Director meetings, stockholder meetings, banker meetings, etc.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Education and Experience Requirements



  • Possess an undergraduate degree in a quantitative subject, advanced degree preferred.

  • Prior industry experience in an analytical role.

  • Experience conducting regression analysis. Prior experience conducting hypothesis testing of direct mail program and building slot floor optimization models a plus.


Skill Requirements



  • Extensive background with relational databases with working knowledge of SQL for analytical query writing.

  • Strong knowledge of a statistics package (preferably SAS or Stata), including scripting.

  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong background in statistical concepts and strong analytical skills.

  • Familiarity with various Business Intelligence software suites a plus.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
