About the Opportunity

VP of Technology owns the technical and strategic deliverables of an organization that is dedicated to developing marketing technology solutions for one or more specific business verticals. Primary responsibilities include resource development, new business development, and solution architecture decisions. Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to resolve conflicts both inside and outside their organization. Involved in translating corporate objectives into relevant tangible goals for their team then determining, capturing, and reporting the lead and lag measures throughout the organization.


Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:


• Oversee technology architecture, design and delivery for assigned business verticals


• Manage resource within their supported vertical. Collaborate with project leads to ensure that resource and revenue forecasts are aligned and that project hours forecast during sales process are tracking with actuals. Manage open reqs and shift resources across projects as needed. Validate input to resource forecasting tools.


• Meet with clients, account services, and project management teams regularly to keep technology offerings are consistent with vertical specific needs. Stay abreast of latest technology trends and all of Epsilon’s product offerings, integrating them with client roadmaps


• Responsible for business development process within the vertical including technology design and pricing (infrastructure cost, build hours, manage hours, and all assumptions used to calculate pricing), defining, creating and/or presenting proof-of-concept demos and sales materials.


• Manage career paths by coaching and mentoring direct and indirect reports. Set and regularly review the team’s strategic goals and adjust them to stay in line with corporate goals. Hold associates accountable for their work by setting expectations, achieving commitments, providing feedback, and evaluating effectiveness. Collaborate with peers for succession planning


• Communicate effectively with direct supervisor and upper management in support of the client, vertical, or project. Synthesize relevant information on key milestones, success criteria, and risks. Escalate critical issues appropriately.


• Work with GMs and technical management to ensure that implementation teams deliver solutions as promised. Roll in as needed to provide leadership and guidance during crisis


• Develops best practices and champion them within the organization.


• Manage budget for capital and operating expenses within the department


• Up to 30% travel required by client and business development needs.


Qualifications
Required Experience:


• Demonstrated technology background in multiple disciplines (system architecture, programming, system administration, database administration, database design, networking technology)


• 5+ years relevant experience including client facing duties


• Ability to communicate advanced technical concepts to non-technical audiences


• 7+ years experience with software implementations from requirements through design, development and client acceptance using Microsoft technologies (.net, asp.net, VB.NET and/or C# required, Visual Studio.NET 2010 experience desired, XML, web services,) and testing the software.


• 7+ years experience in relational database design utilizing Oracle, administration and support, including OLTP and Warehouse environments


• Familiar with design and development of large-scale applications in parallel computing environment


• 7+ years demonstrated experience leading teams greater than 20 individuals


• Familiarity with data hygiene
