Responsibilities

• Build foundations, install floor beams, erect walls and roof systems

• Determine specifications and calculate requirements

• Fit and install trim items

• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures

• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials

• Prepare layouts using measuring tools

Education

• Apprenticeship completed

• Courses completed in carpentry

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the trade

Skills

• Adapts easily to changing deadlines

• Basic trade knowledge

• Good manual dexterity

• Good sense of balance

• Great attention to detail

• Reads blueprints properly

• Shows initiative

• Visualizes concepts effectively

• Well organized

• Works well in a team

• Works well with others
