Customer Quality Manager

As part of our company's performance transformation, we're investing in quality improvements and creating a stronger, centralized Quality Organization. Organized into cross-functional teams, it's a unique Chrysler division consisting of manufacturing, engineering, and supplier quality department members who work together to solve product quality issues and reduce warranty claims. The company has defined six different types of quality and set measurable targets for improvement in each category. Since 2009, the number of employees working on our coordinated quality strategy has increased more than 400 percent. The Quality organization is currently seeking a highly skilled, solutions-oriented Customer Quality Manager responsible for daily customer interaction for stamping quality between Warren Stamping and the Chrysler assembly plant customers. In addition, the Customer Quality Manager will be responsible for leading problem solving projects working with the Chrysler assembly plants. The candidate must be high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions -- a self-confident leader who, in part due to his/her personal presence, style, and demeanor, effectively sells ideas and solutions to others. Moreover, this person must have unquestioned integrity.




The specific responsibilities are:



  • Lead overall customer communication for plant quality team

  • Support assembly plant quality related meetings as required

  • Interact with assembly plant metrology centers to support dimensional improvement plans

  • Champion the "Voice of the Customer" lean manufacturing methods at Warren Stamping engaging all levels of the organization

  • Audit Non-conformance tickets system and ensure process is to conformance

  • Create and execute the action plan in generating clean points for quality issues

  • Support management of product engineering changes

  • Work with the Quality Pillar to drive kaizen projects related to solving quality issues

  • Organize 3rd party containment, certification, and rework measures when necessary

  • Attend Blackbody surface reviews at customer assembly plants and lead organization of plans for fixes/improvements

  • Manage customer liaison representatives daily activity

  • Escalate customer quality issues to plant personal and lead short and long term countermeasures

  • Plan, prioritize, set goals, and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment

  • Display effective communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership

  • Establish partnerships both internally and externally and to influence without direct authority

  • Commitment and dedication in delivering a premier product to the consumer

  • Drive team success by clarifying expectations and minimizing political hurdles

  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to delivering results and champion achievements

  • Exhibit a willingness to do things differently and consistently translate ideas into actions that deliver results

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment




Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in stamping and/or assembly operations

  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)

  • Stamping and/or BIW Assembly expertise

  • Supervision or working experience with union employees

  • Superior communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills dealing and presenting to all levels of the organization




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in Manufacturing Quality

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Engineering)

  • Dimensional engineering expertise

  • Lean manufacturing or world class manufacturing experience

  • Adept computer skills (Microsoft Office)
