Facilities Engineer



Minimum Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific field, and at least 10 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Additional related experience may substitute for education.

Must have a demonstrated ability to apply expert engineering practices and procedures within the systems acquisition and development structures of the Marine Corps, provide engineering and technical direction to subordinate staff, provide professional findings of engineering and technical analysis in the form of reports and presentations, and to lead, facilitate or execute complex engineering and technical tasks


Facilities engineering electrical, mechanical and HVAC experience required.


Must have excellent writing skills, communication skills and strong verbal and interpersonal skills; as daily interaction with all levels of management will be required.



Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.


Should possess an understanding of military acquisition and fielding processes. Selected candidate should be a self-starter and able to work well independently with minimal supervision and broad direction.



Experience with USMC trainers, simulators, training aids/devices desired.



Position will require travel up to 50%.



Position will require the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance. Current Clearance desired.





Job Description:



URS is seeking a Facility Engineer to ensure facilities or sites will be ready for installation and sustainment of training systems for USMC programs. The position is located in Orlando, FL.

Key duties include: performing Site Surveys and writing Site Survey Reports; writing Facility Training Systems Requirements; providing Statement of Work and Specification inputs; developing Facility Cost Estimates and producing Preliminary Facility Layouts; and reviewing and commenting on Facility Design Drawings, Calculations and Submittals..


Responsibilities may include erforming liaison with Base Personnel, Public Works, Naval Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Offices, Army Corps of Engineers Offices and Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (ROICC) at each base and installation on Site Approval, Environmental issues, and Utility interface. Duties will also include resolving facility issues and working with and providing status to project management and other stakeholders.
