Project Engineer - Machine Tools - Auburn Hills, MI Premier single-source solution, providing machine tools, engineering services, tooling, supplies, application support, and customer service to manufacturers within the aerospace, die/mold, industrial parts production, automotive, medical, energy and medical markets. Salary will vary greatly based upon experience.
Responsibilities for the Project Engineer
- Search for alternative solutions in the means of Makino Mason Supplied Options.
- Work with Makino Toyko/Makino Asia on interface developments and custom option development/implementation.
- Work in conjunction with Mason Engineering in finding these solutions, then documenting per MAP procedures.
- Complete quotations or proposals which include commercial and technical content of company and non-company products and services.
- Furnish necessary specifications of customer requirements including prints, sketches, machine specifications, or descriptive detail as required to support machine quotations and proposed systems.
- Work with other internal or external suppliers in the specification of requirements, analysis of response in both the technical and commercial aspects.
- Provide support to the Purchasing organizations within Makino in the price negotiation and terms of conditions for vendor services, as required.
- Provide engineering support for the development, design, and implementation of EDM automation.
- Project schedule and milestone tracking.Tracking of machine and project costs.Track/Monitor equipment installation.Communications with customer on the schedule and technical aspects of the projects.Initiate invoicing and support the receipt of payments.
Requirements for the Project Engineer
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent field experience required.
- Minimum three years experience in EDM or CNC industry, either by operating, servicing, or applications support.
- U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States required.
- Travel will be required, including international travel. Some travel will be on short notice. On occasion, travel will exceed one week in duration.
- Ability to manually lift or move heavy material (5-50 pounds) from a variety of positions. Heavier material is also required which can be done with the use of cranes, fork lifts, or other means.
- Team player, positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
