Senior Business Development Manager Digital Life

This position is part of the AT&T Digital Life organization.

The primary focus of this job is to lead the business development process, working with internal and external partners in the consumer segment. This role is responsible for developing the proposal presentation, business model, negotiations, pricing, and terms and conditions in conjunction with establishing new strategic partnerships and growing lifecycle partnerships in alignment with home security, automation and video roadmap plans.

  • Responsible for initiating and expanding strategic relationships with external partners by understanding the business needs, issues, strategies, priorities, distribution, and other drivers to deliver value-added solutions

  • Build trusted relationships with internal and external partners to effectively manage the account funnel and acquisition process, and vendor relationship management

  • Identify market trends, technologies, players, and considerations in the industry in order to solution and grow new opportunities

  • Prepare proposals, request for proposals (RFP), and presentations, including organizational and industry overviews and strategic plans related to the partner and the proposed partnership solution

  • Conduct detailed analysis of prospective partners, including company overviews, technical details, partner market differentiators, strategic considerations, etc.

  • Responsible for the development of presentation materials for internal approval that include the business strategy, business case, solution, partnership model, value proposition, pricing, and terms and conditions for home security and automation solutions

  • Document and communicate the key decisions that need to be made in order to successfully launch the solution

  • Partner with Supply Chain on partner contract negotiations and execution

  • Represent business development team by communicating and ensuring alignment with cross functional team members

  • Update knowledge base by reading industry trade publications and forums

  • While this role is an individual contributor role, it is considered a leadership and business development position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree; MBA preferred in Strategy, Finance, or Economics

  • 5+ years of business development, account management, product development, or sales experience

  • 2+ years of wireless, home automation, and video experience

  • Must be an exceptionally strong presenter and negotiator

  • Proven ability to reach out and break through executives to begin new relationships

  • Comfortable with a highly charged, highly fluid, highly collaborative work environment

  • Self-starter who aggressively pursues their business goals and constant collaboration with colleagues to drive projects to completion with limited supervision

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and ability to focus on the key points

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail
