Primary Function:


Support GSF on medium- to large-sized, multiple product line project negotiations as assigned by management. Responsibility to include interpretation of project plans and specifications, review of project scope, bid man takeoff of product and product proposal preparation for motor control centers (MCCs). Must be able to communicate proper lead time information, have a technical understanding of the product and will employ pricing authority managed to price bands as determined by manager.


Meet or exceed OE volume and price objectives by product line and market segment as determined by manager in accordance with historical performance and available market data for assigned region(s).


Review customer needs and specifications in order to determine the minimum bill of material, most competitive price level and shipment cycle within the market segment pertaining to each specific negotiation. Interpret incoming product line quotations for project desirability factor, proper product content and list price. Recommend changes, modifications to bill of material to meet customer specification and improve Electrical Group’s competitive position as needed.


Report to the MCC product line new product requirements, track negotiations, report orders entered and lost, develop accurate monthly forecasts and report market trends in a timely and efficient manner.


Essential Functions:


A.Perform a wide variety of marketing and technical tasks that are broader in scope than those of the Engineer – Sales III and Associate Engineer Sales positions; this includes solving customer problems with the use of technical and marketing publications, development specifications and divisional peers to innovate problem solutions.

B.Without appreciable direction, must be able to manage time appropriately to meet the MCC product lines objectives and customers requirements

C.Guide the coordination of special complex design problems with design/standards engineering

D.Interpret and define commercial and technical data where customer and/or product planning specifications are of a general or speculative nature involving the solution of new and varied problems

E.Negotiate with Field Sales/customer, to obtain highest price levels for service and product features offered

F.Sell Field Sales organization on quality and product features in order to obtain required focus and attention to meet volume objectives

G.Give training and informative presentations to customers, distributors, and sales force concerning Eaton’s electrical products and services

H.Ability to travel as necessary to effectively interface with customers and other required contacts and to manage or participate in company-related projects, activities or other job-related assignments

I.Be a technical resource for the MCC product line and leverage the TRC for product technical support

J.Support product line marketing functions which will include travel

K.Other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:


-Bachelors degree from an accredited institution is required

-Minimum three years of engineering or technical sales expereince

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:


-BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
