Supplier Quality Engineer


Scope Summary:


Works in a fast-paced automotive environment; responsible for all quality related activities and performance; initiates and maintains customer interface and support.


Education:


Bachelors or Associated Degree


Qualifications:



  • Successful completion of formal training regarding the TS 16949 standard

  • Successful completion of formal problem-solving training (Ford TOPS 8D

    preferred)

  • Experience Minimum 5 years in quality capacity at Tier I or II automotive supplier or automotive OEM.

  • Lean manufacturing experience

  • Process and product auditing experience

  • Proficiency with the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques

  • Proficiency with the application of basic SPC

  • TS 16949 Internal Auditor

  • Practical working knowledge of quality tools (pareto analysis, trend analysis, scatter diagrams, histograms, capability charts, SPC, etc.)

  • Ability to update all APQP documents

  • Ability to maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities

  • Experience with Ford Systems a plus


Responsibilities include:



  • Manage “Control of Non-conforming Material” process including analysis and disposition of internal and external non-conforming product

  • Manage “Improvement” process including continual improvement, corrective action and preventive action

  • Manage “Change Control” process

  • Manage “Measurement Systems Analysis” process

  • Manage “Measurement, Analysis and Improvement” process (SPC)

  • Manage “Validation of Processes for Production” process

  • Conduct product and manufacturing process audits

  • Facilitate/Conduct validation testing

  • Participate in management system audits (member of the internal audit team)

  • Preparation of PPAP submissions according to customer requirements and AIAG methods

  • Participate in the APQP process for new and prospective customers

  • Training of associates to customer-specific procedures/work instructions

  • Assist in implementing visual management system – Quality Cost Delivery Service/Safety

  • Develop, document, review and communicate the Quality and Environmental Objectives

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Strives for excellence in all duties in responsibilities
