As Illumina's Associate Director, Product Marketing - Applications you will be responsible for a team of market managers and product managers that drive all aspects of the product life cycle ranging from setting product definitions, pricing, leading product core teams and launch activities to ensure your products meet the high standards of Illumina. In addition to your direct management responsibilities, you will be responsible for managing and defining a portfolio of products that support all of Illumina's sequencing and microarray based applications. You will interact closely with other departments including Sales, Regional Marketing, R&D, Customer Support, Finance and Manufacturing.
â€¢Responsible for determining and achieving revenue forecasts for DNA, gene expression and regulation product lines across
â€¢Manage a team of market and product managers with focus on career development
â€¢Oversee and guide the launch of new products focused in various segments of the DNA, gene expression and regulation market.
â€¢Develop and implement strategic plans for both current and future DNA, gene expression and regulation applications.
â€¢Develop market materials for specific applications and set product specifications in collaboration with related departments.
â€¢Partner with R&D, Operations, and the Field Organization to ensure successful commercialization of novel applications for DNA Sequencing, RNA Sequencing, microarray and epigenetic applications.
â€¢Interact with the Marketing Communications group to develop product messaging and implement tactical programs.
â€¢Collaboratively work with the Field Organization and Regional Marketing on product launches, general communication and outbound marketing, and the development of Sales tools.
â€¢Keep updated on competitor activities to define positioning and differentiators.
Education and Experience:
â€¢Must have minimum of 10+ years of experience in a similar position including general experience in Life Sciences, Genomics or Pharmaceutical industries.
â€¢Must have sales or customer facing experience.
â€¢Must have proficient written, communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to both scientific and corporate audiences.
â€¢Must have demonstrated team building and people management skills
â€¢Must be independent and strategically minded.
â€¢Experience with gene expression arrays, RT-PCR, and RNA-sequencing technology is highly desirable
â€¢Minimum of 4 years relevant experience working with Marketing Programs.
â€¢Willing to work in a fast paced environment.
â€¢Excellent time and project management skills.
â€¢Ph.D. or Masters in Biological Sciences, Genetics, Genomics or related field is highly desirable. MBA a plus.
â€¢Must be willing to travel up to ~25%.
