Infection Control Manager

The Infection Control Manager is responsible for performing internal surveillance, special studies, education, and administrative activities which are intended to ensure that the hospitals patients, personnel and visitors will be protected from transmission of diseases and infection within the Medical Centers environment. The infection control manager will plan, organize, develop, and direct the Infection Control Program in accordance with current Federal, State, and local regulations. S/he supervises investigations, monitors, develops and implements policies and educates personnel on practices in Infection Control. S/he provides consultative services to personnel, physicians, patients and the community in regard to products or procedures that carry special infection related potentials. This position will report to Director of Quality/ Risk Improvement.


Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of experience in infection control preferably in a complex acute care environment.

  • Registered Nurse or Masters degree in a related field such as Microbiology, Public health etc.

  • Current BLS certification required

  • Must be self-motivated organized and detail oriented

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, discretion, tolerance, flexibility and problem analysis/resolution

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Ability to analyze data

  • Certified in infection prevention and control(CIC Certification) preferred

  • Advanced computer skills, to trend data and run graphs.

  • Infection control program improvement track record.

  • Experience managing regulatory agency requirements related to infection control.

  • Fire and safety card must be presented upon hire or must be obtained at our facility within the first 30 days.

  • Excellent customer service skills required
