The Role

Working within People Operations (HR) as part of the Global Benefits team, we have an exciting opportunity for a Benefits Business Services Representative to take ownership for the administration and analysis of benefit policies and programs across the Americas (US, Canada, Latin America). This is a challenging role where you will use your strong relationship management, analytical and project management skills that impact the development of programs and policies that contribute to enhancing employee attraction, engagement and retention.


Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage relationships with benefits consultants and vendors on a day-to-day basis. - Ensure vendors meet Bloomberg's customer service standards and adhere to agreed upon service level agreements. - Ensure operational and administrative processes are effective. Identify and implement process improvements. - Monitor, analyze and research utilization reports and trends for assigned benefit programs. Proactively suggest enhancements based on feedback, claims trends and market practice. - Act as point of contact for escalated employee benefits questions. - Act as an adviser to the wider HR team regarding policies, practices, and procedures. - Independently research a variety of related complex information requests and issues, working to resolve within the confines of the law and plan documents. - Maintain a good working knowledge of benefit legislation, industry standards and best practices, incorporating standards into processes and procedures and modifying processes to ensure compliance. - Manage the communication of existing and new programs as well as all benefits compliance related communications (i.e. Summary Plan Descriptions). - Maintain accurate benefits information on the HR intranet. - Audit and process benefit invoices. - Organize and run benefit fairs. - Maintain up-to-date and thorough knowledge of employee benefit provisions and eligibility requirements. This includes processing eligibility data for the benefit plans throughout the Americas.


Project work:

- Assist with the implementation of new plan designs or vendor implementations. - Manage and develop recurring and targeted communication and marketing campaigns. - Assist with managing the U.S. Open Enrollment life cycle. - Assist with integrated health, welfare, retirement and wellness related projects. - Audit internal benefit programs for accuracy.


***This is a maternity leave coverage. Estimated dates of the assignment are September 1, 2013 to April 15, 2014. ***


Requirements:

- 0-2 years of experience in benefits administration. - Previous experience in a similar role within a corporate benefits or benefits consulting setting preferred, but not required. - Excellent project management skills. - Ability to work independently in completing tasks and projects with minimal supervision - Analytical/critical thinking skills. - Demonstrated skills in detail orientation, service excellence, creativity and adaptability, dependability, time management, good judgment, decision making and teamwork. - Ability to run and analyze reports, and participate in technical problem resolution. - Accuracy and timeliness in execution of job responsibilities is essential. - Good oral and written communication skills. - Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality. - Ability to function at high volumes under stress, with attention to detail and accuracy.
