Overview:
Develop, train and lead store staffs to drive sales. Represent MMG as the private brand expert. Align and support District partners by providing consumer, store, and stock/assortment feedback tailored to growing the business and reflecting the My Macys perspective.
Essential Functions:
Merchandise Execution and Visual Presentation Coach and train execution of best in class merchandise presentation standards and product flows and adjacencies.
- Ensure compliance to Brand Guide and Visual alerts.
- Communicate disconnects regarding presentation standards and priorities.
- Work with District Merchant and/or in-store partners to identify and secure the BEST real estate appropriate for the brand.
- Plan and execute seasonal flow of goods. Partner with DM, MTM, GSM, Visual staff and selling specialists to review new deliveries and establish a sense of PRIORITY for all private brands.
- Partner with store staff and management to ensure standard is maintained between visits.
- Monitor stock rooms to ensure they are organized with minimal receipts in the back room.
- Ensure efficient floor replenishment strategy. Develop a game plan with the MTM, specialist, etc.
- Partner with store staff to ensure markdowns are executed as scheduled, signed and easy to shop.
- Partner with visual to ensure all graphics are current and mannequins reflect the lifestyle of the brand.
- Communicate recommendations for shop enhancements to Central Management.
Training and Selling Capabilities
- Partner with District Merchants and GSMs to ensure distribution and understanding of MMG training materials, most importantly the BRAND GUIDES.
- Train the trainers. Focus on training those who manage a team of associates.
- Plan and execute seasonal training seminars for all stores on rotation.
- Reinforce the Stores own Sales and performance metrics expected of each associate.
- Train MTMs and Visual teams on brand appropriate visual and merchandising presentation standards.
- Provide on-the-floor training to the sales associates on the features and benefits of MMG brands.
- Set the standard for customer service by demonstrating professionalism and product knowledge to exceed the customers expectations.
- Recruit, interview, train and participate in the development for all private brand-selling specialists/work leads.
Relationships and Communication
- District Merchants and Planners
- Collaborate with district partners to align efforts and goals.
- Provide consistent updates on sales driving strategies, product/brand initiatives and requests, specialists and staffing updates, store issues and opportunities, etc.
- Regional Manager
- Provide Store specific feedback of all issues, opportunities and successes. (Store Visit Recaps)
- Solicit support when necessary.
- Retail Development Central Team
- Provide consistent brand and store feedback.
- Share merchandise execution and visual issues, opportunities and successes.
- Provide feedback on the competition, in-store adversity, assortment issues/opportunities and customer remarks.
Business Analysis
- Evaluate door and brand performance using same reports as District partners.
- Use performance results to help with prioritization of store visits and product/brand focus.
- Quantify call-outs, concerns and recommendations.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- 3+ years of retail management experience.
- Relevant FOB experience required. (1+ years)
- Strong understanding of store operations and structure.
- High-level visual and presentation standards with ability to understand store flow and productivity.
- Computer proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Lotus notes.
Language Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
