In this position, you will provide project management guidance on various procurement related activities and purchases; Research, select, develop and maintain adequate sources of supply to ensure that the company's requirements for assigned materials, equipment and services are fulfilled with the best quality, service and price consistent with the need; Establish and manage ongoing vendor relationships so that our needs for goods and services are met by suppliers whose quality, price, delivery, long term availability, and access to technology will provide us with competitive advantages; Develop competitive vendor strategies which lead to a more favorable business position than our competition or other competitive advantages for the company; Forecast timely price and availability information on materials for the various consuming businesses and communicate this information to appropriate personnel in the company so it is properly integrated into business strategy and decision-making; Drive value to the business by developing insightful category strategies and vendor objectives.
You wil develop key performance metrics for suppliers and centralized purchasing group and ensure their met; Research and prepare policy documents which deal with Terms and Conditions approval requirements, and performance issues associated with contracts; MRP analysis, work order creation and distribution, and capable of consolidation of orders; Support or adapt existing database and spreadsheet applications and tools. Develop new ones as required; Purchase and negotiate materials, equipment and supplies from non- inventory and inventory suppliers; Negotiate purchasing terms and conditions. Prepare and execute turn key construction contracts and payment releases; Expedite orders, arrange returns and exchanges, and trace lost shipments; Negotiate with vendors for pricing, quotes, specifications, FDA issues and part number clarifications; purchases approximately total $40 million per year; Resolve invoice issues with vendors and TAMS’ accounts payable group; Coordinate with services, the field and the business units to expedite approval of new items for entrance into the Oracle system; Provide assistance to the sales department on finding vendors and prices for non-Toshiba products; Confirm receipt of non-inventory and inventory items and document receipt in system; Log/data entry of PO’s and distribute copies of PO to originators; Coordinate TAMS’ employee purchases through TACP/TAIS; Coordinate setup of new supplier purchasing sites; obtain W-9 and minority owned information.

Qualifications:
5-10 years experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably in an Oracle environment.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Strong PC skills (MS products), including experience utilizing the Internet as a resource.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
Dynamic personality to work with multiple levels of employees.
Strong and diverse experience in all areas of purchasing.
A four year degree in Business or equivalent work experience.
Minimum five years directly applicable experience.
Knowledge of basic office equipment such as fax, PC and Mainframe, etc.
Experience in expediting construction materials and negotiations in the purchasing process.
