TECH-X-RAY - Per Diem, Urgent Care by Atlanta Medical Center - Atlanta, GA



Description

Summary The X-Ray Tech provides routine but varied medical care for patients in the urgent care setting, as directed by the physician. The X-Ray Tech will complete all competency skilled training per company policy. The X-Ray Tech abides by the standards of Georgia State Radiology Technology Board of Examiners.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

1. Maintains appropriate clinical standards. Follows the policy and procedures as written in the Company Policy and Procedure Manual.

2. Patient care-assists with triage examinations and discharges in a manner which prompts high quality, patient focus health care.

3. Operates imaging equipment and other ancillary equipment properly and safely.

4. Positions patient in the correct position to obtain required radiographs.

5. Practices correct radiation protection, shielding, and collimating, and proper exposure factors on each patient.

6. Completes exams in timely and efficient manner and evaluates each film for acceptable technical quality.

7. Strives to reduce retakes and conservation of supplies.

8. Will be responsible each shift to make sure that the physician on duty is reviewing x-ray reports that were sent out for over-reads to a radiologist.

9. Maintaining proper filing of all x-rays, disc and folders.

10. May administer medications oral, topical, oral, nasal, injections, otic or nebulizer treatments under the direct order and supervision of a physician on duty and must have documented training for medication administration.

11. Performs wound care, dressing application and orthopedic splinting under the direct order and supervision of a physician on duty and must have documented training for procedures.

12. Performs various CLIA waived lab tests. Performs quality controls and maintains appropriate records/documentation of Quality Assurance/Quality Control of lab procedures, equipment, and any other tests as regulated by CLIA/COLA guidelines and company policy.

13. Assists with the sterile or non-sterile set up for minor procedures, and other clinical duties.

14. May perform peripheral venipuncture under the direct order and supervision of a physician on duty and must have documented training for procedures.

15. Cleans instruments and equipment per company guidelines, maintains stock in all exam rooms before, during, and after each shift. Assists to turn over exam rooms, procedure rooms, treatment rooms, immediately after a patient is discharged from that room.

16. Assists nurse on duty at all times during a shift, including but not limited to, the unpacking of supplies, maintaining the general aesthetics of the clinic, discharging patient, and assisting non-ambulatory patients to and from the building, and documenting appropriately, as well as other duties as assigned.

17. Accurately, efficiently and completely document all clinical patient care data.

18. Participates in department quality improvement activities, staff educational programs, attends departmental meetings, and demonstrates and maintains clinical competency in the delivery of patient care services in accordance with Company

Education and/or Experience



  • Georgia State Licensure and ARRT registration is required.

  • At least 2 years of X-Ray Tech experience preferred
