Account Executive

Job Description:

The primary responsibilities for this customer-facing B2B sales position are to prospect, present, and sell complex products and services to new small- and medium-sized business (SMB) customers, thereby generating new revenue. We provide our customers a myriad of solutions including voice, data, cloud, and security products and services.

This is an individually-contributing sales position that requires a high-activity sales model and a “hunter” mentality. We are seeking sales professionals, who have successfully prospected, developed, and maintained accounts in a B2B consultative selling environment, and who have a desire to move into or continue to grow in the information technology field. Territories are assigned based on experience and career level in our success-based advancement model. A successful individual will be managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing (new accounts), and identifying areas for providing additional value (existing accounts). Use your business savvy and problem solving skills to help customers understand opportunities to serve their own customers, save resources, secure information, and sustain systems. You will utilize a broad base of tools and resources to provide the best solution for each customer, enabling the customer to focus on their business and Cbeyond to provide for their technology needs.

•Manage Your Work: Manage your contact records and customer relationships by utilizing tools and resources (such as Salesforce.com), offer suggestions for driving efficiency and productive interactions with customers, and develop one’s own sales technique within our consultative, solutions-focused sales model.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

•One year of B2B sales experience with a proven track record of success is required; two or more years of B2B sales experience is preferred. Technology (i.e., telecommunications, IT-services, or software) sales experience is a strong plus. You will be placed in our career path based on your experience level.

•A high-energy, dynamic personality with a sense of urgency, and a strong commitment to working within a team-oriented environment.

•Self-motivation and strong goal-orientation, with a disciplined work ethic.

•Ability to perform in a high activity sales model.

•A demonstrated ability to quickly form business relationships with executive level professionals.

•A “hunter’s mentality” – a strong desire and ability to seek, generate, and acquire new sales opportunities.

•Superior follow-up skills with the ability to respond and negotiate under pressure.

•Effective communication skills via phone, email, and in-person. Strong listening skills are a must.

•An ability to learn complex technical products and solutions and identify how these products and services align with a customer’s needs.

•Strong presentation skills.

•A demonstrated interest in technology and working knowledge of computers and networking.

•A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

•Valid driver’s license with no major violations within the past three years
