Associate Patient Care Coordinator - Las Vegas, NV

Position Description:Positions in this function are responsible for checking in, scheduling appointments, answering billing questions and managing patient medical records for a clinic. Roles may vary based on the size of the clinic(s).Knowledge: Understand insurance programs and basic managed care principals such as referrals and prior authorization. Must understand all aspects of the patient visit from open to close. Ability to manage waiting room and keep patients flowing smoothly. Must have an understanding of what customer service is and how to maintain it in the clinic setting. Must be able to resolve patient issues and problems in a positive manner.Skills: Must possess computer skills will need to learn and use several window based and non-window based applications.Primary Responsibilities:Responsible to greet patient and check patient in and out. Ensure demographics including insurance information is correct in IDX and update as necessary.Manage the patient's expectations about the visit and ensures that the visit and referral process are understood.Schedule appointments as necessary. Works with back office to get patients seen who walk in or call for appointment.Enter charges correctly and collects appropriate payments.Answer telephones and take messages or route incoming calls as per SMA policy. Document all calls and messages appropriately according to SMA policy. Ensure that issues such as refills and provide request are taken care of.Responsible for waiting room management and implementation of efficient customer friendly processes.Work with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow.Communicate with clinical personnel about service issues and complaints.Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas.Completes Post Visit Survey calls to patients.Other duties as assigned.WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal clinic environment.


Qualifications:
